Anesthesia Technician

RWJBH is seeking an Anesthesia Technician at the New Brunswick campus,

This is a full time, day shift position,

Please note this position is 7:00a-3:30p,

Requirements/Qualification:

The Anesthesia Technician will provide assistance to the licensed Anesthesia providers in various settings by acquisition and preparation of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia,

Anesthesia Technician is available to the anesthesia provider all phases of the anesthetic care of the patient,

The Anesthesia Technician demonstrates knowledge not limited to aseptic technique, universal precautions/ isolation precautions, OR surgical attire, laser safety, cell saver, patient positioning and body mechanics, massive transfusion protocol, glucometer, proper cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining various Anesthesia related equipment and stocking anesthesia supplies, etc,

Education: High School diploma, work related experience with strong understanding of medical terminology, preferably with 1-2 year of experience as Anesthesia Tech,

Basic Life Support BLS through the American Heart Association AHA required,

Team player, maintain professional attitude and departmental code of conduct,

Able to read printed materials, with eye hand coordination and manual dexterity, ability to hear conversational voice with or without hearing aid, able to lift and move heavy objects and able to remain calm in critical and emergent situations,
