Our Mission

As a 469-bed medical center located in northern New Jersey, we’re committed to elevating community care to the next level — in no small part because as individuals, we’re proud members of the communities we serve. Many of us live within 15 miles of the hospital, and have seen firsthand the tremendous impact of the medical center’s prioritization of patient care on the lives of our friends, neighbors and family.

Clara Maass Medical Center (CMMC) is staffed by 700 physicians and 2,100 employees and serves residents of Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Bergen Counties. CMMC recently opened a new, state-of-the-art Behavioral Health Unit specifically designed for patients in need of evaluation by the medical center’s Psychiatric Emergency Screening Service (PESS) team.

Some of CMMC’s regionally renowned services include a state-of-the-art Emergency Department (including same day surgery), comprehensive Ophthalmology, Radiology and Cardiac Services, including Cardiac Catheterization, Diagnostic, Elective and Emergency Angioplasty and Rehabilitation. Our technology-rich campus includes a Bariatric Surgery Center, Center for Sleep Disorders, Cancer Center, Joint & Spine Institute, Pain Management Center, Vascular Center, Women’s Health Center and Wound Center. Other services include Maternity Services, Pediatric Services and parent education. CMMC also has community outreach programs including a patient education program, screenings and support groups.
