Job Overview:

Assist physician/patient customer needs by providing quality patient services through overseeing radiology personnel as a diagnostic lead technologist lead technologist. Assist with the daily operational functions of diagnostic lead technologist. Keeps team members and coworkers informed of current work status on assignments. Shares information and solicits feedback from others to create a sense of belonging among team members & coworkers. Supports an environment that remains positive and focused despite obstacles and setbacks. Pushes oneself and others to deliver superior results. Assist in the development and implementation of department performance improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Licensed by the State of New Jersey and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
  • RT. Preferred 5 years experience minimum 2 years required.
  • Successful completion of all orientation programs

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews daily request and coordinates personnel to their respected assignments. Assist proficiency of personnel paying attention to the quality and quantity of work performed daily.
  • Assist the Chief Technologist in any problems as well as potential issues that may affect department work flow.
  • Ensures adequate coverage for all shifts as needed. Monitors transport needs utilizing the SMS system.
  • Frequently observes patient satisfaction needs by maintaining awareness of patient condition, keeping patient informed of status of exam and supporting their needs.
  • Promotes coordinated patient care through participation in multi-disciplinary approach
  • Assist interviewing applicants for staff positions. Assist preparing performance evaluations annually for staff. Provide calm, flexible conflict resolutions and seek to jointly solve problems. Assist providing feedback to the staff on progress and reward accomplishments.
  • Assist delegating assignment responsibility to staff. Assist staff members with opportunity to meet all mandatory training department specific or hospital/system wide. Assist the provision of staff orientation and in-service opportunity. Provide team building skills to promote patient care through multi-discipline approach to both technical and medical staff.
  • Communicates frequently with the Chief Technologist on diagnostic issues. Communicates assisting staff with staffing needs. Communicates effectively and comprehensively with other assistant chiefs to ensure continuity of care. Communicates effectively with ancillary departments relaying transport needs, supply shortage and interruption of work flow.
  • Informs Chief Technologist on progress and resolution of diagnostic issues. Establish and maintains communications with the ITS department. Acts as a representative for diagnostic radiology transport needs at meetings with Escort department
  • Assist Chief Technologist with operational expensed of supplies for the department. Assist monitoring internal and external supplies. Assist monitoring overtime. Verifies completion of exams for proper billing purposes. Reviews staff schedule and assist in decision-making recommendations for improvement. Assist with payroll decisions in the absence of the Chief Technologist. Assist with ordering supplies ample to department needs.
  • Reviews and maintains policies and procedures to confirm with the department, hospital, state & federal regulations. Assist participating in the performance improvement process and reporting mechanism when requested. Represent the department modality in multi discipline committees regarding performance improvement with regards to transporting patients. Support and ensure staff in the understanding of performance improvement methodology. Assist with quality control programs are met. Initiates and maintains open line communication for patients/family concerns complaints or special needs.
  • Oversee the ordering of supplies and rooms are well stocked. Respond to any occurrence reports in a timely manner. Maintain current, essential knowledge and skills including any specialty certificates. Ensure staff license is up to date & required CMEs. Ensure staff CPR requirements are current. In conjunction with staff and fellow assistant chiefs coordinates/delegates patient care according to patient needs. Assures timely response by phone and be visible in department with staff as needed.
