Job Overview:

A clerk is responsible for organizing and maintaining patient information, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and efficient record retrieval within a healthcare setting. Their role involves updating records, managing filing systems and assisting healthcare professionals in accessing relevant patient data.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Knowledge of HIPPA and client confidentiality laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced organization skills
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Basic computer skills to scan, organize and access electronic health records
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Preferred:

  • One (1) year office or Medical Office experience

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Monday Friday
  • Part-Time/Day

Essential Functions:

  • Performs high volume scanning of patient records
  • Prints and faxes patient reports to referring doctors as needed
  • Files new medical records
  • Pulls charts, records, and other medical information when needed
  • Processes expired patient records
  • Attends training sessions as required
  • Processes patient record requests
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Answering emails and phone calls
  • Welcoming patients at the front desk
