Job Overview:

In this role you will develop and implement Bariatric navigation program at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center following MBSAQIP guidelines. Organize and administer care to bariatric patients utilizing a patient navigation model through out the medical center and within the community.Povide advanced practice nursing care in collaboration with medical staff in accordance with the objective, policies and procedures of the hospital and the New Jersey State Nurse Practice Act. Plan and provide age specific treatments, patient and family education and navigation throughout the hospital and medical system. Assist program expansion for the Adolescent Bariatric Program and provide community outreach and education programs to increase awareness.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current New Jersey licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse in good standing required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • 5 years prior experience as a Registered Nurse required BLS (Basic Life Support) Health Care Provider Certification or acquisition within 90 days of hire and maintenance of certification required.
  • Successful completion of all orientation programs required.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and manage all regulatory documentation of MBSAQIP Preparation for Assist with the coordination of scheduled interdisciplinary Adult and Adolescent Bariatric meetings
  • Coordinate all clinical activities for the Adult and Adolescent Bariatric Program
  • Coordinate and provide community outreach and education of Adult and Adolescent Bariatric program Market and promote the Adult and Adolescent Bariatric navigation program Assist with obtaining all necessary medical documentation
  • Provide navigation support to patients within the Adult and Adolescent Bariatric program
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
