Job Overview:

Experienced full-time professional to serve as the RWJBH Rounding Director. This pivotal role is responsible for the comprehensive management, optimization, and operational success of our system-wide Huron rounding (HuR) tool and strategy. This tool and the encompassing strategy is essential for monitoring and enhancing patient care, improving patient experience, increasing employee engagement, streamlining service recovery management and issues resolution. This role is vital in ensuring effective communication and coordination among the facility-wide leads and the system-wide decision-making council.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Experience in healthcare digital IT, clinical informatics, or a related field, with a strong understanding of hospital operations and patient care workflows.
  • Proven experience with healthcare rounding tools or similar systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data sets and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple agendas simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and support healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices related to healthcare IT and patient data security.

Essential Functions:

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to gather feedback, understand their needs, and ensure the tool supports their objectives. Act as a liaison between end-users, facility-wide leaders/ committees, and relay information to the System-Wide Rounding Governance Council and serve as the facilitator of each council meeting. Work closely with Patient Quality & Safety, Chief Patient Experience Officer, Human Resources, Chief People Officer, HRO, Patient Experience, and HCAHPS Taskforce.
  • Tool Management and Optimization: Responsible for overseeing the configuration, customization, and ongoing optimization of the rounding tool and strategies to meet the dynamic needs of the system and facilities. Ensure the tool is user-friendly and effectively supports workflows such as Recognizing You . Regularly QA the unit to template mapping. Monitor the roundingsupport@rwjbh.org email for questions/ concerns.
  • Training and Support: Accountable to ensure the development and delivery of any rounding training/ coaching initiatives for healthcare staff, validating they are proficient in using HuR. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting to address any issues or questions.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Accountable to monitor HuR usage and performance, analyzing data across sources to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Generate regular reports that are standardized for hospital leadership and ensure consistency among reports pushed to employees. Manage data integrity by ensuring data on the backend such as EMR changes aligns with front-end data.
  • Quality Improvement: Responsible to drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging data insights and user feedback to enhance the functionality and effectiveness of the rounding tool.
  • Compliance and Security: Accountable to ensure HuR complies with all relevant regulations and standards, particularly regarding patient privacy and data security. Oversee best practices for data governance such as information entered in HuR and/or Verge.
  • Project Management: Accountable to lead projects related to HuR, including upgrades, new feature implementations, and integration with other entities/ facilities. Manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder communications.
