Job Overview:

The Insurance Verification Coordinator provides insurance benefit verification for all infusion patients prior to the start of service. The Verification Coordinator maintains proper insurance authorizations for all Managed Care Medicaid and Medicare patients. Additionally, the Verification Coordinator assumes responsibility for the data entry functions for patient demographics, billing and payment information, along with physician and authorization information.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required within one (1) year of hire.
    • Candidates who do not possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent will be provided the opportunity to enroll in a GED/HSEA program at time of hire as a condition of employment. A hired candidate will be provided one (1) year from date of hire to successfully complete a GED program and obtain their HSEA.
  • Previous knowledge of Insurance Benefit Verification, Prior Authorizations and Reimbursement knowledge is required.
  • Successful completion of all orientation programs.

Preferred:

  • 2 years of experience in insurance verification is highly preferred.
  • Pharmacy experience is preferred.
  • Billing/coding experience is preferred.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-time, Day
  • Monday through Friday

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains proper insurance authorizations for all Managed Care Medicaid and Medicare patients.
  • Assumes responsibility for data entry functions of patient demographics, billing and payment information along with physician and authorization information.
