Medical Transcriptionist

Job Overview:

To correctly and accurately transcribe all pathology dictations as well as written reports. Communicates with patients and physicians regarding slide loans and report send-outs. Reports all equipment malfunctions to the office coordinator for repair.

They assist the office coordinator in pulling slides for various conferences and for physician review.

Qualifications:
Required:

• High school; additional courses in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology necessary.

Experience:

• Dictating equipment, word processing equipment and medical terminology; specifically pathology.

Scheduling Requirements:

• Part Time
• Day Shift

Essential Functions:

• Extensive use of computer keyboard.
• Frequent change from sitting to standing position.
• Contact with potentially infectious specimens and patients.
