Dietician Registered, Dietary - Management

Job Overview:

The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing optimal nutritional care to patients, which compiles with the standards of care in the dietetic profession. This role is responsible for the medical nutrition therapy of patient/residents; nutritional assessment, nutrition care plans, patient visitation, diet counseling, consults regarding advance nutrition support, as well as assist in other areas related to the Food and Nutrition Services Department.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Registered Dietitian or RD eligible
• Completed ADA approved internship
• Must have the ability to read, write and speak English (or other languages as necessary)
  
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions

Preferred:

• Experience in health care environment

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Registered Dietitian

Scheduling Requirements:

• Flexible hours Monday-Friday and a minimum of 2 weekend shifts (8 hours per day w/ 30-minute lunch break) each month and every other holiday
• PD

Essential Functions:

• Performs nutritional assessments and nutrition screens, which are appropriate and timely per established policies and procedure
• Develops nutrition care plans and monitors patient response to care plan developed
• Provides inpatient discharge diet instructions
• Keeps thorough and updated information on patient profile sheets.
• Provides diet consultations as ordered by physicians
• Collaborates with physician and nursing to deliver quality nutrition care
