Job Overview:

Evaluate patients, plans and implements an appropriate physical therapy treatment program upon the referral of a physician, dentist, or podiatrist, and under the direction of the PT Clinical Supervisor and/or Director of Rehabilitation Services

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Doctorate in physical therapy from an APTA accredited school of physical therapy.

Preferred:

  • PT experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Licensed in the State of New Jersey.
  • BLS Certification Required. (American Heart Association)
  • Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Evenings and Saturdays
  • PD

Responsibilities:

  • Administers therapy treatments to patients, develops appropriate discharge plans, along with appropriate home therapy program following standard accepted therapy practice and policies and procedures of CORC and professional licensure
  • Evaluates/re-evaluates appropriate parameters on each patient using standard tests and procedures; records findings in the medical record and communicates same to referring physician and other members of the healthcare team as indicated in accordance with departmental and ACC policies and procedures.
  • Documents treatment provided, response to treatment and progress in patient medical record in a timely manner in accordance with departmental and ACC policies and procedures and professional licensure..
  • Accurately documents appropriate charges for therapy services provided in accordance with departmental and ACC policies and procedures and professional licensure
  • Recommends and adjusts adaptive equipment and provides family education and recommendations regarding home safety to maximize functional performance of patients following accepted therapy practice and department policies/procedures.
  • Supervises therapy assistants including but not limited to accurate and timely documentation and billing in accordance with departmental and ACC policies and procedures and professional licensure.
  • Supervises students appropriately; tailors supervision to student s needs, provides appropriate feedback, clarifies expectations, completes required evaluation and regularly confers with director of clinical education (CCCE)
