Job Summary

Performs a variety of responsibilities related to patient safety and healthcare quality data to ensure compliance with best practices, regulatory standards and improving patient care.

Essential Job Functions

Assists with administrative support, logistics planning and implementation for all quality-related meetings and events (e.g. Quality & Safety steering committee, CSH Quality Fair, Infection Prevention Committee meetings, Patient Safety Week activities and HRO activities) as assigned.

Responsible for accurate data entry and extraction for all quality-related dashboards and databases as instructed. Assists with quality dashboard projects, maintaining and managing information.

Support audits, surveys, and performance improvement projects related to quality, therapy and infection prevention.

Assists with the reporting of data to agencies for regulatory purposes including but not limited to NDNQI, CDC, NHSN, NJDOH, PCCA and RWJBH.

Prepares data reports for analysis and presentation. Identifies missing information in Wee FIM report and gathers data for analysis and uploads data to UDS.

Creates and updates data input into Redcap database for quality and PI activities as assigned

Assists therapy clinical leads in the management of inpatient and outpatient projects as related to improving the quality of care and services provided across the continuum.

Collect, validate, and manage infection prevention and control data relating to infection prevention core practices.

Assists with the management of CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) and CLIS (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Services) laboratory licenses, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agency requirements. Assists in the coordination and updates of the Clinical Tool Box.

Assist in coordinating policies and procedures related to therapy and infection prevention in collaboration with Directors and key stakeholders.

Formal Education and Job-Related Experience

Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred. Minimum 3 years job related experience.

Knowledge of medical terminology required. Use of judgment in the performance of duties.

Knowledge of various computer software applications preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Strong organizational skills, time management with the ability to work independently. Good verbal and written communication skills.

Sensitivity and courtesy in dealing with others.

Direct contact with patients, families, clinical and administrative staff, and outside services. Concentration, manual dexterity, lifting and pulling boxes.
