Job Overview:

In busy outpatient department, confirm benefits, obtain authorizations, make reminder calls to patients; copying, filing, faxing and scanning documents; provides phone and receptionist coverage for other staff as needed; check patients in and out for appointments and alert staff that patient has arrived.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 to 5 years office experience required, good organizational and communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Computer skills required

Preferred:

  • One year (1) secretarial experience

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift- 8:30-4:30pm
  • Monday- Friday
  • Full Time

Essential Functions:

  • Calls patients to confirm scheduled appointments for next day, as requested
  • Registration of new patients
  • Delegate calls to appropriate area
  • Call no shows next business day to reschedule appointments
  • All other duties as assigned
