Job Overview:

The Special Procedure Technologist performs diagnostic examinations and therapeutic interventions as required by physician orders. Provides patient services using sophisticated imaging techniques such as biplane and single plane fluoroscopy.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiology
  • ARRT Certification
  • NJ licensure
  • BLS through the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift
  • Per Diem Scheduling

Essential Functions:

  • The Special Procedure Technologist performs diagnostic examinations and therapeutic interventions as required by physician orders
  • Provides patient services using sophisticated imaging techniques such as biplane and single plane fluoroscopy
  • Performs a variety of angiographic, interventional and special procedure exams
  • Technologist is competent in the production of quality images for proper treatment and diagnosis by physician
  • Maintains clean rooms and is not limited to reviewing and/or recording pertinent patient history and physiological data for interpretation by the radiologist / physician
  • Monitors and maintains equipment
  • Adheres to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety
  • Reports equipment problems to Manager
  • Regulatory Compliance Equipment Repairs & QA/QC operations
  • Assist Interventional Radiologist with examinations
  • Competent in RIS, IDX, PACS
  • Participates in the ordering and inventory of equipment and supplies for the Special Procedures/Interventional suite
  • Recognizes that continuing education is vital to maintaining and advancing the profession. Keeps technical skills current, demonstrating evidence of continuing education to include department meetings, individualized learning opportunities from radiologists, and related classes
  • Performs other duties as assigned
