Job Overview:

The Supervisor in the Dietary Management department is responsible for ensuring that the department is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma required

Preferred:

  • Associate Degree in Food and Nutrition or related field or completed 108 hour ADA approved Supervisor s course or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare, hotel or service environment preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Approximately 6 hours per day, 5 days a week
  • Includes every other weekend
  • Shift time varies; flexibility required

Essential Functions:

  • Schedules, orients, trains, disciplines and supervises all personnel of the kitchen and cafeteria
  • Responsible for the set-up and distribution of all food andnon-food items from the kitchen and cafeteria
  • Responsible to ensure quality standards of sanitation, safety, security, food presentation and service aremet or exceeded at all times
  • Issues are addressed with a sense of urgency and the course of action which minimizes the problem is taken
  • Ensures proper completion of employee duties and responsibilities. Plans and carries through proper orientation andon-the-job training for employees assigned to their task
  • Provides continual positive and corrective feedback on all employees supervised, with the intentto develop employees and improve the department as a whole
  • Supervisor is knowledgeable of and ensures employees compliance with all hospital and departmental policies
  • Assigned paperwork is accurate and timely, including but not limited to: temperature records, time cards, attendance records, shift checklists including sanitation training records, evaluations, disciplinary actions and labor reports
  • Completes all required accounting on time andaccurately
