Job Overview:
The Sterile Products Supervisor is a member of the Pharmacy management team and responsible for managing the sterile product compliance for the Pharmacy department.
Qualifications:
Required:
- PharmD Graduate of college of Pharmacy accredited by ACPE or equivalent
- Previous pharmacist experience
Preferred:
- At least one year of supervisory experience
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Current Pharmacist license in NJ
Essential Functions:
- Oversees compliance with all regulatory requirements required for sterile compounding including USP 797 USP 800 NJ BOP TJC DEA FDA CMS NJDOH and other state or federal regulatory bodies
- Assists in the development of quality improvement programs staff training and development for sterile and hazardous compounding
- Manages policies for sterile compounding
- Frontline resource for all pharmacy staff
- Assists Director and ADOP in meeting vision and mission of patient safety formulary compliance cost effective practice teamwork productivity and positive outcomes
- Participates with external departments at local and system level to optimize patient care and best practice
- Provides cross coverage for other supervisor responsibilities as needed and assigned
- Provides leadership and direction to pharmacy team members
- Provides feedback to complete employee evaluations
- Promotes a positive work environment
- Plans efficient and effective utilization of resources
- Assists in planning monitoring and maintaining budget in functional areas of the department
- Participates in on-call duties if asked
