Job Overview:

The Ultrasound Senior Technologist will provide patient services using diagnostic ultrasound equipment. The Ultrasound Technologist is competent in the production and analysis of ultrasound, for both general, vascular imaging and OBGYN used by physicians for patient diagnosis and treatment. In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion and judgment in the performance of ultrasound services. This ultrasound technologist will be required to work at all imaging sites, including CMC offsite locations and CMC Hospital.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of approved school
  • Certified by the ARDMS and/or ARRT
  • BLS through the American Heart Association
  • Successful completion of department specific orientation

Preferred:

  • Credentialed in Vascular Ultrasound, general ultrasound and OBGYN

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift
  • Full-Time
  • 40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to perform all vascular imaging including, ABI/PVR studies, Carotids, AAA , renal and abdominal ultrasounds
  • Assist radiologist with special procedures as warranted , including vascular ultrasound imaging
  • Recognize ultrasonic representation of normal and abnormal structures, organs, system relationships and relational anatomy including all vascular
  • Maintain clean examination rooms and work environment in all areas
  • Employ professional judgment and discretion while performing all imaging procedures
  • Enter patient information, select appropriate transducer, set initial power input and instrument gain for patient size and age, and select menu items as required for type of equipment and provide consistent and optimal image quality
  • Performs other duties as required by the department
